About the Event
Nicole Straussman-Allen, coordinator of Palm Beach Atlantic University's Writing Center will lead you in a four-part writing intensive to refresh and practice the art of writing. She will walk you through the following lessons so you have tangible narratives to use in future grants:
Session One: Narrative Writing
- Create a cohesive narrative
- Develop a strong point of view
- Add story elements
Session Two: Descriptive Writing
- Enhance your writing with adjectives/adverbs
- Develop your vocabulary to create better phrases
- Find the perfect word to make a bold impression
Session Three: Syntax and Style
- Learn how to vary sentence structure
- Capture your personal writing style
- Imbue your writing with confidence
- Develop a balance between consistency and creativity
Session Four: Proofreading and Polishing
- Apply proofreading strategies to locate errors
- Learn to correct common grammar concerns
- Put the final touches on your writing before submission
